betontulpen is my private collection of places, moments and situations. i am no professional photographer, though i have a keen eye for and an interest in the often overlooked. betontulpen is a german compound word and means tulips made of concrete.

i am interested in the uniform nature, the emptiness and sadness of places out of the limelight or out of their season. it is hard to distinguish if those places are in a western or eastern country, rich or poor neighbourhood, in that way betontulpen become truly democratic, and apparently universal.

the  works are so far mainly published on instagram with additional posts on facebook and tumblr, always under the name betontulpen. I do not strive for commercial publication but enjoy to share with a wider audience and enter into exchange with the likeminded.

some works have been published in a small booklet or as postcards,some as gallery prints.
